Garden and Outdoor Space Planning and Project Management
I offer a range of garden design services from advice on planting up a problematic border to a full garden design service. If you are unsure what you need, don’t hesitate to contact me.
Design Service
- All services start with an initial consultation at your home to discuss your ideas and budget, a close look round your garden and for me to get to know something about your lifestyle, tastes and aspirations.
- I produce a design proposal, outlining the work you require and my fees for the design.
- Once accepted, I survey the garden for measurements and an analysis of its features, aspect and soil.
- I produce a draft design plan with options for us to meet and discuss, including materials, planting style and budget.
- The final agreed design includes construction details for contractors and estimates of further costs.
Project Management
- I obtain quotations from reliable contractors for the hard-landscaping, electrics, ground clearance and soil preparation.
- I monitor the build process on behalf of the client to ensure all goes to plan and to the quality required.
Planting Services
Planning and planting
- I create planting plans for different areas/borders of the garden, with photos of plants selected and cost.
- I can order plants and have them delivered. I can also source planters and other garden items.
- I can plant up the garden (often with a team).
- I provide advice on aftercare and maintenance visits where needed.
Planting Design Only (no hard-landscaping)
The process is the same as for the Design Service with the following differences:
- The survey may only be for the part of the garden that is to be planted/changed.
- The draft and final designs will include the planting plans, possibly with the addition of new beds or changes to existing ones.
Garden Design Consultation only
- The initial consultation can be followed up by a written report summarising our discussion and including my suggestions for how you could use the space and the types of plants that would work well.
